Sometimes we have a bit of trouble with our wireless so I am combining days.
Highlights from Thursday included our visit to the brand new Los Guidos Childcare Center. Once it is furnished, 250 children from the surrounding neighborhood will begin experiencing the love of Jesus through playing, learning, healing and growing in this beautiful space.
Before driving back to Roblealto we stopped by one of the other childcare centers. The photos of these precious little ones says it all…We even got to join them in a fire drill!
After putting in more work hours on Casa Eden we decorated the cafeteria and welcomed all the children to a pizza party, complete with bagpipes (thank you again Thomas and Stephen!). Games, laughter and gifts followed. As the festivities wound down, Richard (aka Jefe Ricardo) was honored for his many years of service to los ninos. All the youngsters from each house gathered around all the “voluntarios” and prayed for us…lots of wet eyes after that! None of us wants to say goodbye.
It is hard to believe our time here is nearly over! We finished up our construction work…smoothly taped and mudded walls.
Before we began our work on Casa Eden this week, we wrote blessings on several of the walls and we will continue to pray for the children who will call this house their home!
Later in the afternoon we met with Pamela to debrief our week at Roblealto. Lots of good memories and tears shared here!
Then it was time to say our final goodbyes… Adios (literally, “go with God”) to our new amigos y amigos as they left on a bus to visit their families over the weekend.
It was so difficult to say goodbye to these precious ones, but many of us will be back to visit them again and all of us can pray for them!
