In a support group, members provide each other with various types of help, usually nonprofessional and nonmaterial, for a particular shared, usually burdensome, characteristic. The help may take the form of providing and evaluating relevant information, relating personal experiences, listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing social networks. A support group may also work to inform the public or engage in advocacy.

You don’t have to go through it alone!

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

We are using the DivorceCare Workbook.  The book will be available at the workshop.  Join us as we process feelings, share insights and begin or continue the process of rebuilding our lives.

Outside Support Groups

Anonymous Groups are a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop. There are no dues or fees for membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. The following support groups are not affiliated with Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church in any way except providing meeting space for these support groups. Is a Support Group For You? Only you can decide whether you want to give it a try — whether you think it can help you.
