Our Purpose: Compelled by God’s love, we participate with the Holy Spirit to bring people into a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
…you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
-1 Corinthians 3:23
At WCPRES, we want people to feel like they belong. We invite people to accept the unconditional acceptance of the triune God into His family. This is the God who created the whole universe for us to tangibly experience His love for us; the same God who demonstrated His boundless love for us by sending Jesus Christ into our midst; the same God who has given us His Holy Spirit to indwell in us. We welcome believers and those who are searching for a community to learn, grow and serve with.
The gifts he gave were … to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.
- Ephesians 4:11-13
At WCPRES, we want people to grow in maturity as Jesus’ apprentices – to gain the wisdom, character, strength, and courage needed to be capable Christ followers. We invite people to grow in community with us by worshipping, learning and serving together.
…the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
- Jesus (Luke 22:26-27)
At WCPRES, we want people to serve together – to experience the joy of using their time, talents and gifts in ways that make a difference to the Kingdom of God. Whether it is serving food for the homeless, going on a short term mission trip, or teaching Sunday School, we want to see fruit in our community, where people’s lives are transformed by our contagious ministry.
Core Values:
- Maturity in Christ: We facilitate spiritual growth so that believers may know the scriptures and exhibit the radiant love of Christ
- Stewardship of Gifts: We promote a shift from being church consumers to being ministry investors
- Inward Strength, Outward Focus: We demonstrate Christ’s love among us in such a contagious way that our resources are directed toward our community with no strings attached.
