Bart is committed to finishing well at Christ Church, a goal we fully support. At the same time, Bart recognizes that we are eager to have him start building a presence at WCPC. To honor both these priorities, we have proposed a transition plan which aims to have Bart start his official full-time role at WCPC on March 1. In the interim, Bart will both wrap up his commitments to Christ Church and will return to WCPC on various occasions to preach, observe Session meetings, meet with staff, and get to know our congregation. As of now, Bart’s interim preaching dates at WCPC are scheduled for January 19 and February 9.
Bart will be available to meet everyone over coffee on our campus on Sunday January 19th, from after the service until noon and again onSunday February 9th. In addition, he will be available for you to meet him on Wednesday February 19th, from 10:00 until 11:30. He would like to hear your personal experiences at WCPC, find out how God has ministered to you and through you at WCPC. He wants to hear your hopes and fears you carry into our future and what you want us to look like in 3 years.
We are grateful to Benjamin for serving us so faithfully for over two years. He has committed to staying on in his Transitional Pastor role through the last Sunday in February.
Thanks for asking!
Please pray for God to sustain Bart in the tremendous work required to tend to old and new commitments and to care for everyone who relies on his leadership.
Please pray for Benjamin and his family as they prepare for whatever God holds for them in their next chapter of their lives. Love Benjamin well and thank him for leading us through the challenges of the past few years.
Pray for our staff as they navigate a significant new season of change while tending to all the heavy lifting required to keep our church running well. Support them with both words and acts of kindness.
When meeting Bart at our coffee hour, please consider there is only one of him and many more of us! Practice patience and grace in these early days of getting to know our next Senior Pastor and allow him time to get to know us.
