Impressions

“God has blessed Bart with a servant’s heart, a theologian’s mind, a Kingdom entrepreneur’s vision and an athlete’s enthusiasm, teamwork, and perseverance. I could stop there, but our discussions with Bart reminded me of former professor, Catholic priest, and theologian Fr. John Dunne, who liked to quote four biblically true phrases from J. R. R. Tolkien: “Things are meant (to be).” “There are signs.” “The heart speaks.” “There is a way.” Bart was not looking for a change, and yet God put WCPC in his heart and mind, and he listened to the call. Then God made clear the way. This was meant—and it’s going to be fun worshipping with and supporting God’s kingdom at WCPC!”

“Of all the pastors we reviewed I found Bart to be the most visionary of them all. I was impressed with his quick thinking and follow-up as well, a sign of a good leader that I can follow.”

“Bart’s attitude toward ministry style is aligned with that of St. Paul, who became ‘all things to all men, that I might by all means save some’ (1 Corinthians 9:22 RSV). Bart understands that we of WCPC have freedom to be used by Christ for his glory: to adapt ourselves to our opportunities with the gifts God gives us. Bart’s heart is for the local church, even when it struggles. He considers the local church to be the linchpin of God's outreach to our society.”

“What struck me about Bart was a blend of humility and confidence that rarely exists and only does so in harmony when one’s identity is rooted in Christ. That Bart also demonstrated a grace-filled nature, remarkable intelligence, and exceptional communication skills merely confirmed God’s hand in the search for our new pastor.”
