COVID-19 Relief Fund
For some in our area, the coronavirus has wreaked havoc on the mind, body, and soul. Some have lost jobs. Others have lost loved ones. For still more, physical, mental, and spiritual health has been affected. Some who have already been struggling to have their basic physical needs such as food, clothing, and shelter met are in more difficult positions than they once were.
Jesus charged his church to follow him in love and good deeds--to proclaim the good news, to release the captives, to serve the poor. Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church has stepped up to that call, raising $52,000 for our COVID-19 “Lend A Hand” Fund! Way to go church! This fund is designed to “lend a hand” to those experiencing difficulties in the aftermath of COVID-19.
We are giving two large gifts of $5,000 each to the Food Bank of Contra Costa County and to the Monument Crisis Center. The additional $42,000 will be offered as grants to our congregants in three ways. We hope you will consider applying!
