Morning Light Women’s Bible Study
The gospel of Luke weaves a rich tapestry on the life of Jesus Christ and stands out for its warm focus on ordinary individuals (especially women in the story) and its constant reminders that the gospel is good news to all people without favoritism.
Morning Light participants will be given study/thought questions weekly in preparation for every lesson, a chance to discuss those questions in assigned small groups (via Zoom), and Mary’s interactive talk to close the morning session and tie up loose ends.
All women are welcome to the study, where no assumptions are made about previous Bible study experience, church membership, or faith commitment.
Winter/Spring 2021 will be a continuation of our live study of the Gospel of Luke with Reverend Mary Naegeli (Chapters 9-24). Participation in the Fall Semester is not required.
More about Dr. Naegeli:
As we navigate through this unique and crazy year, with its difficulties and mysteries, the Rev. Dr. Mary Holder Naegeli will help us sort out the gospel record and apply our discoveries to our “new normal.”
Mary Holder married Andy Naegeli forty-five years ago, two weeks after they both graduated from Stanford University, where Mary studied mathematics and music. Together they raised two daughters who now are both professionals living in Seattle with their families. Mary’s book Deep Breathing: Finding Calm amid Cancer Anxiety was released in August 2020, chronicling six months of her learning experience with lung cancer. She likes to read, quilt, and travel (when allowed) especially to see the grandkids, and has cooked dinner almost every evening even before the pandemic altered life patterns.
