WCPres Children’s Ministries goal is to create an authentic Christian community where children and their families are nurtured, supported and equipped to be life-long disciples who know, love, follow and serve Jesus Christ.
The faith of a child who is raised in a Christian home and a church family, develops over time and parallels the individual development of the child. A child’s faith is influenced by people, places and a variety of experiences. Most often the greatest influence of a child’s faith is their family. However, the church as an individual’s faith family, is also a very important influence.
We recognize that raising children is a challenge in and of itself and raising a child of faith is an even greater challenge. We also recognize that any parents do not feel qualified or equipped to disciple their own children to be followers of Jesus. For this reason, WCPres desires to come alongside parents as a faith family, partnering with parents in the faith formation and discipleship of their children.
We have created a Child Discipleship Pathway to help parents journey with their children as they grow and develop as children of God and form their own faith so that they might grow to be life-long disciples who know, love, follow and serve Jesus Christ. As part of the Child Discipleship Pathway WCPres wants to nurture and equip parents as they raise their children. As a Faith Family, WCPres recognizes and celebrates the transitions and accomplishments in the faith development of our children.
The Child Discipleship Pathway identifies four stages of faith development and challenges children to (1) Know God’s love (2) Know & Love God’s Word (3) Know & Love God’s Son (4) Love & Serve God’s people.
Each week, children are welcomed into a safe, nurturing, fun and engaging environment by a team of trained caregivers or volunteers. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and receive instruction on checking your child into our age-specific programs:
Baby/Toddler | Pre-K/K | Elementary
Parents/guardians sign children in and out of programs and events (up to 15 minutes beforehand) by initialing the attendance sheet and indicating the time of drop-off and pick-up.
Children should be symptom-free of any communicable illness for at least 24 hours.
Our classrooms are nut-free, including any food provided by WCPres or brought in by a parent.
We want to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for every child. Please let us know if your child has unique abilities or challenges so we can work together to best support your child.
Receive notification and learn about upcoming opportunities for children and families at WCPres through occasional Children's Ministry e-Newsletters.
